Coffee is one of my favourite beverages. When milk is added, the texture is just amazing! Some of you might agree with me, some of you think I have broken one of the commandments of drinking good coffee. However, one thing is for sure, we all drink coffee. As one of the most widely consumed drinks around the world, there is a lot of waste, from grounds to coffee bags. What if, things don’t have to be this way. What if we can use the remainder of what we drink for good.
I can share with you one of my ideas. I think coffee bags are awesome, not just for coffee beans. After all, coffee beans are coffee seeds anyway am I right? I want to recycle coffee bags from cafes such as Starbucks and other artisan cafes to grow seeds rather than dispose of them. Coffee bags collected will be used as a seed starter. Replace used coffee beans with compost and place a seed of your choice and you are good to go! It really is so simple. Even I have difficulty making a presentation because of this simplicity.
Anyone can do this, from children to elderly and anybody in between too busy working to be here today. Creating a seed starter has costs that are almost negligible since the bulk of items used are recycled from cafes, except a few minutes of your time and a little bit of love.
Is this too good to be true? Is this a scam? I can bluntly tell you these answers. It is too good to be true to even be a scam. Planting a seed should not be labrous nor costly. A coffee bag will decompose inevitably, leaving behind a plant of your choice. A testimony of your time and love.
